If Fire's liquid green eyes, rich rufussed colour or purrsonality don't melt your heart, then a Bengal is not what you are looking for. Everyone that comes to visit just adores him. Lying on his back in your arms, who could help but be smitten? Fire produces beautifully spotted kittens with glorious glitter. He does not carry for Marble or Snow but he does carry for Cinnamon. Fire is now full grown and has been the main stud in our breeding programme. Fires nature is faultless and to date he has passed this to all of his offspring. |

In Loving Memory of Heartbreaker Date of Birth: 21st September 2002.
HB (Heartbreaker) was my first imported kitten destined to be the main Stud in my breeding programme. I had waited over a year for this exceptional boy. Fully rosetted, a whited tummy, covered in glitter, with fantastic “type” and a purrsonality beyond words. HB was not only going to do incredible things for the Bengal breed in NZ but also destined with his show career to become a champion of champions. HB’s final score of 259 saw him placed as 2nd Best Shorthair Pedigree Kitten for the 2003 National Annual Awards for the New Zealand Cat Fancy. On the 12th June 2003 at 10.47pm, HB crossed Rainbow Bridge in my arms after a short but severe illness. A full autopsy and specialist reports ascertained that he did not die of IMHA or Poisoning but could not explain the extreme anaemia that took his life. The passing of HB very almost saw the end of Torreymao Bengals. For me, losing HB was like losing a child and I didn’t feel I had the strength to go on. My tears seemed endless and the constant voice in my head kept repeating the same questions all starting with “Why?” It is now here, publicly, that I wish to thank all the New Zealand Cat Breeders, all the NZ Bengal Breeders, Tijah Bengals, Families of adopted Torreymao kittens and my friends and family for their amazing support during my time of grief. The visits, phone calls, emails, cards, flowers, hugs, poems, stories, offers of help and above all statements of “you can’t give up” are the reason that Torreymao Bengals are still here today. Thank you, because of you, his memory will live on. “Heartbreaker”, even his name spoke volumes. |
